These are the four St George Criminal attorneys that I have personally recently used; and the following data is what I observed and have reported from others.

So who is the best?

(Generally everybody who used Douglas Terry have said that they liked Doug Terry. I liked him and I have had him defend me twice now, once by accsedent. My brother and myself where co-defendants for the same felony charges; I had Kenneth Combs and my brother had Doug Terry. Kenneth Combs took me aside at the start of the trial and said: "Make this plea, a resolution and maybe the judge will go easy on you." Five years was answered by the judge until Douglas Terry mentioned me in my brothers defense. The Judge let us go for the two weeks we already served and then after paying off the damages we caused dropped it from our record. I believe Doug Terry was more to thank then was my own attorney.)

Kenneth Combs had used the euphemism "short and curlies" when convincing me to take the offer. I assumed later he had never read the discovery at that point.

Kenneth Combs may get another red mark from me because I decided to hire him and try him out in a paying client's capacity, because I assumed he would do a better job paid, and because Doug Terry quoted me $2500.00 more than Combs.

Jay Winward with Lamar J attorneys is also representing me now. He seems solid in court but he has a temper. I asked him to get a discovery for the medical records and he actually snapped at me, yelling don't send me on wild goose chases again, saying he filed the discover and nothing was there. Later I found out he only asked for the same supplemental report he had already been given. These are all not cool things for your lawyer to do, and to top it all off he wont get me copies.

Ariel K Taylor defended me in a case that the prosecutor dropped right off the bat, only to re-file charges against me later. While Ariel K Taylor did nothing neglectful, when I called and asked him to get me a copy of the supplemental discovery, he snidely said: "I got them to drop the charges, what else do you want me to do?" He actually did not get the charges dropped. Dropping my charges just to re file them was a new tactic St George City used to help get convictions. Just think about how much easier it is to convict someone who has been arrested for Failure To Appear in Court.

So for criminal law in Utah, Douglas Terry is your safest bet, if you can afford him. I have only heard good things about Ariel Taylor, I have nothing good to say about him myself but can't neglect to say that as of yet not anyone I know said he did bad in their cases, so who knows. Jay Winward, I don't have much good to say about him either, he's over worked and tired in my opinion and learning what I have learned from Kenneth combs I will never pay a lawyer who sucks as a public defender again. Work is the exception and the rule, the one who works hard publicly works hard privately. Now I really hope Kenneth Combs surprises me but if he does not he will have to go down in my records as the worst lawyer I have ever had.

I will let you know April Monday 12Th 2010. After my Trial.
